We have a nice tent for the kids to play in. It previously occupied a place of honor in the basement playroom, until displaced by the bounce house.
We told the kids the other night they could have an indoor camping trip, and sleep in the tent, in their sleeping bags (Cars for Owen; ladybug for Sophie), in the middle of their room. They got to use their battery-powered lanterns, too.
So anyway, they talked about it all day, very excited. They took their bath and we got ready, we read our stories in their tent, and then they turned on their lanterns, and I left.
Sophie lasted about 5 minutes until she asked if she could just sleep in her bed. Owen lasted another 5 minutes, and that was the end of the camping trip.
