Blueberry picking

We went blueberry picking at the farm in Dexter this past weekend. Second year in a row, and this year we were joined by Fern and Betsy.

In general, the weather was nice, not too hot, but weird, kinda like last year. The haul was much, much greater, given our previous experience. Fern was very cute, and wanted to help very badly. So, from her perch in my arms, she would pick berries, whatever her petite little fist could grab, and dump them in my bucket with a contented grunt.

We've eaten blueberries every day since, mostly just by the handful. But Betsy made a very nice blueberry pie, and tonight we dusted off the ice cream maker, and made vanilla ice cream with blueberries in it. Delicious!
