Dexter Daze

It was Dexter Daze on Saturday, so, naturally, we went.

The highlight was the parade. We actually got a really good spot, on the street (first for that), in the shade. We even sat down! Yikes! It turned out to be ideal, since it was early on in the (admittedly short) parade route, so the candy throwers had not yet depleted their stock. Our parade candy haul rivals our Halloween candy haul! Sophie was approached by both the Dexter High cheerleaders and the gymnastics studio with candy and/or literature, so they know a good recruit when they see one. Owen was enamored with the marching band, needless to say. There were firetrucks, horses, old cars, karate, etc. It was nice.

We then walked downtown to Gazebo park and participated. We got some body painting done, did the bounce house, ate pizza and watched Colors the Clown. Good times!

The weather was fantastic, not too hot. The crowds were about twice what they were last year.
